Youth Ministry

YOUTH MINISTRY

BRIEF ON YOUTH MINISTRY

The Youth Ministry is led by a group of young people who seek to ignite passion in the hearts of the youths to exalt God. We unite the youths in the family of God and equipping them to fulfil their God-given purpose. We purpose to see that the passions, desires and gifting of the youths benefit the Kingdom of God. To let their candles shine therefore, we engage the youths in projects that do not only meet their needs but also the communities that surround us. The ministry provides a platform onto which the youths grow in Christ; identify and nurture their God-given talents, desires and callings to advance the Kingdom of God. We serve to see a youth with everlasting impact.

2014 theme: Stir up the gift (2 Timothy 1:6)

1.Ice Cream Nite Spearheaded by the Youth Ministry leadership team, the Ice Cream Nite was the first of its kind in Kampala city. It was an evening where hundreds of youths from in and around the city of Kampala were hosted at church on February 21, 2014.
The purpose of the event was to speak to young people on issues of relationships. The subject of relationship is critical to the youth. It is at this stage where young men and women begin to engage in relationships with persons of the opposite sex yet it is one area where many struggle, have questions and seek answers. It doesn’t only affect their wellbeing but their spiritual lives. Being an indispensable part of life, relationships cannot be discouraged but as a church we believe the youths need information on initiating, sustaining and making relationships work for the glory of God.
In this advancing information and communication technology era, there is a lot of information in the world but in events like these, we as a church speak to the youths about relationships from a godly and Biblical perspective. We endeavour to develop programs that directly minister to the youths in a more appealing and attractive way. We package the gospel of our Lord Jesus in the way that the youths can easily relate to.
The Ice Cream Nite was one. Every youth who came for the event received a cup of ice cream and walked on the red carpet as they entered the church’s auditorium where the event was hosted. We tackled subjects like “Dating, the Christian way, Sex and marriage”. It was educative, informative and most importantly Spirit inspired. We sliced the presentations with music performances from local popular gospel musicians that got the youth dancing. Other music performances came from our church’s Youth Band and salsa dancers.

Cell Ministry

CELL MINISTRY
The vision of the House is a “Cell based church which embraces a life style in which Jesus Christ is Lord demonstrated in the community”. We believe that coming to church every Sunday morning is good but not enough in the life of a believer. To fellowship, to love, to belong and much more can be best expressed not during the two hours of a typical Sunday morning service at church but in the believers’ homes, in their communities.
So we encourage believers to open up their homes to host cell meetings while urge every member of the church to attend one of the 160 cell groups in and around Kampala, in the communities where they stay. 5-10 believers form a cell. A cell meting lasts a maximum of one and half hours. While we have dedicated Wednesday as cells day, members of a particular cell meet at the time that suits them often in the evening after work.
Cells have enormous benefits. There is prayer and devotion. There is Bible study and sharing of the word. There is discipleship. There is praise and worship. There is leadership growth and development. There is sharing of testimonies. There is networking. In cells, believers give and receive genuine love. We have noted that the best place to identify and nurture the gifting of individual believers is in home cells. Yet cells present opportunity to believers to reach out to their communities with the love of Jesus Christ through life transforming seed projects.
